Day 9: Last #RSL Pic on Phone

This is the last pic on my phone, which is the stack of books I used for the Book Spine Poetry video. I’ve had the pleasure of reading all of these books except In Search of Satisfaction by J. California Cooper, An Untamed Stated by Roxane Gay, and Everything Inside by Edwidge Danticat. The rest of the books were definite highlights in my reading. My top favourites in this stack are Sugar by Bernice L. McFadden and Daughter by Asha Bandele. Of course I recommend anything by Cooper. I haven’t read one bad book by her. She wrote mostly short story collections that are emotional, humorous, and heart-warming. I’ve read all of Bernice L. McFadden’s backlist and they all had something good about them. I must say that Sugar, Gathering of Waters, and The Book of Harlan are my 3 favourites by her. I’m looking forward to anything new that she puts out. What a joy to look back on my reading when I see this pic.
