My Top Ten Favorite Books of 2015
Bookish Stuff / Wednesday, January 6th, 2016
I really want to read A Brief History… and you’ve made me even more impatient 🙂
I’d like to enter the giveaway but I’m so embarrassed at my top read of 2015 by a black author because I should have read it years ago as it is such a classic: Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. She had such a strong narrative voice and seems years ahead of her time in terms of her treatment of a woman’s desire for freedom. At least I finally got round to it!
No worries! You are entered. The important thing is that you finally read it. There are so many must reads out there we’d all need ten lifetimes to get through all of them.
Great wrap up Didi! Lots of fab recommendations, thank you, I’m too late to join your draw, but I can share my Outstanding Read of 2015 which was Jamaica Kincaid’s The Autobiography of My Mother, which I hope makes it onto your reading list in 2016.
We read a similar number of books in 2015 and had a similar goal, I think we have a similar lifestyle!! Love connecting with you and wish you a happy reading year for 2016, looking forward to more great recommendations from you.
Thanks Claire! Yes we do really similar books and have similar lifestyles. 2015 ended well in reading because I managed to surpass my 50 book reading goal. The most important was that my page count looked a lot better than the typical 12,000-13,000 pages. 15,500 was an encouraging jump up for me. Hoping 2016 will have me reading and discovering some more new and fantastic books and authors and a higher page count (=Bigger books) Yes I enjoy connecting with you too and we must do it more often. Wishing you some great reading and experiences this 2016! ?
